'010 LSF Supreme Tournament of Suffering: Part Nine.

Welcome to the finals! It's been a long journey in our nine part series, and we've had some fun, but now it's time to get down and dirty and pick the winner of the losers!

Your 2010 First Annual LSF Supreme Tournament of Suffering finalists are:

(1) Newcastle United

One reason the Magpies will win: No EPL title since 1927.

One reason the Magpies shouldn't win: Promotion just one year after relegation last season, while winning the ECL title and going undefeated at home for an entire season.

(1) Wake Forest University

One reason the Demons will win: No National Title since the program was started in 1888 and only 2 Conference titles in that time. Maybe they'll join the PAC 10 as well?

One reason the Demons shouldn't win: Don't they seem better than that? In comparison to their historical .412 winning percentage, they've been fairly decent lately.

(2) Los Angeles Clippers

One reason the Clippers will win: No Championship ever...and Laker fans love to point that out.

One reason the Clippers shouldn't win: Playoffs not too long ago, and the "huge" upside to Blake the Snake.

Yes, I did more than "one reason" on a couple of those, and I think that's funny.

And the winner is...

The Los Angeles Clippers!

Wake Forest gets denied because they just don't feel as bad as they are on paper.

Newcastle gets denied because of the recent reprieve they gave fans from suffering by putting on one of the best second division promotion campaigns in recent memory.

The Clippers got a boost thanks to the effort of Brandon Davis being the only fan with the guts to make his case in the comments section of the tournament. That, and that they are just so very bad.

So congratulations Clippers fan. You have something to celebrate. At least for this year, your Clippers are the LSF's Supreme Squad of Suffering.

It's an upset! I feel like any team would have been a good choice. If Newcastle hadn't done what they did this past season, they might have taken it. We'll see what happens next year. Can't wait.
