Rough game. I am typing this not knowing how to feel really. We knew, as Hawks fans at least, this was going to be a different type of series versus the Canucks. I like to think the changes we made in the offseason will eventually effect our team for the better. We are and have been a very different team. I am goin to be real. Do we need Burish, Eager, Versteeg and Big Buff back? No. Surprised? I dgaf. Only guy i think we truly miss is Andrerw Ladd (mostly for his epic beard). This inst a QQ post nor is it a love Ladd post, so don't worry. YET I do believe we miss the attitude those players brought immensely. Like I said earlier we knew this was going to be a different flavored series. It definitely has some chippy-ness and intensity is there. The Hawks and Canucks seem to have less talkers is what it comes down to. The Hawks look a litlle timid at times and the Nucks look quite focused. Vancouver owns the puck and the forecheck therefore they have won. Its not about taking shits in Loungo's crease and pissing the Sedins off its about playing hard smart hockey and the Hawks haven't done this save for a few bursts from some young guns.

This bring me to Stalberg and Smith. They both played like gritty vets and thats really the only two guys I am happy with right now. Ya they scored the goals but it was more than that they finished check, batlled in the nasty areas, fought through elbows to the face and just wanted it more plain and simple. Big-ups dudes lets hope you keep it up. Oh and big-ups to Crawford I love you good sir and the D can only get better.

I am calling out Toews Keith and Sharp.. ho hum, you are our leaders, prove it. You guys need to show up and be leaders and not take the bullshit anymore. Kane you are a whole different story and I can't get into that right now for the safety of my computer.

With all this said am I optimistic about the Hawks winning this series in 7 like my prediction? Oh of course I am. All it takes is Bieksa to realize who he really is and to Burrows stop pretending as well. Well probably a lil more than that... lets start with the Forecheck eh.

There is work to be done and where else to grind out a face pounding win but sweet home Chicago.
